 Assignments:  Due to the nature of the content of this chapter, we will take two weeks to complete the reading assignments and the following assignments.

  • Develop a detailed organizational chart for any of the following:  acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient services ie lab, radiology, medical records department, or emergency department. You may use MS Word to create your boxes, smart draw software ( I have included in the URL above.  it is a free download and easy to use.) or any other software you may have.
  • Develop a flow chart for one of the following processes:  patient registration,  emergency department patient flow, lab specimen collection-test results, radiology order entry- reports, medical records department process, or any other approved choice.  Again use MS Word to create the chart or smart draw software.
  • Due April 21st by 9.00 am.
