University Colloquium: IDS 3920

Ten Week Session

Orientation to the the University Colloquium:

This 10-week section of the Colloquium, is taught by Dr. Terry Wimberley who uses a web-based format for course assignments.  Below, you will find the classes and class dates for this summer's colloquium.  Beside each date column you will find the topic for the class.  Each student will be expected to click on each week's topic, study the reading and writing assignments for the class and attend each class with writing assignments in hand.

NOTE: All work must be attached to the correct Drop Box on the ANGEL Lesson board - as a Microsoft Word or "Rich Text Format (rtf)" document - by no later than 5 p.m. on the final date of the weekly class session (these dates are found on the course schedule). Work turned in late or in the wrong Lesson Board folder will receive no credit. The "Session Folders" are reserved for the instructor and you are not to place any of your work in these folders. Any work turned in late (and I mean "at all late") will receive no (0%) credit. Any work that  is written into the memo field of the drop box or is attached in any format other than Word or "rich text format" will not be graded and will receive no credit (0%). Likewise, work lacking your name, date, assignment description and course identification will also receive no grade and no credit, so pay attention to the basics like these if you want to receive credit for your work. If your assignment is drawn from course readings, then it must include citations and references in APA format or you will have points deducted from your grade.

ALSO NOTE: In using the course "Lesson Board" which is found in the university's ANGEL distance learning software, notice that the Lesson Board consists of a series of "Session" and "Drop Box" folders. The "Session" folders are for the exclusive use of the professor while the "Drop" box folders are for the use of students. Any student work placed in the "Session" folders will not be graded, nor will any work placed in the wrong "Drop" box. Use the "Drop" box that matches the week that the homework is assigned or use the "Drop" box that is designated for an examination to be turned in to.

Be aware that all class assignments, including discussion questions, must be posted as a Word Document in the drop boxes (and not the  Session Folders) of the class Lesson Board.

Also, remember to utilize the Cob Webs   that will be posted weekly on the ANGEL Lesson Board under the "session' folders on the course Lesson Board. Also, remember, the "Session" folders are for the use of the instructor only. Any work you put into those folders will not be graded.
