Henry O. Ogedegbe, Associate Professor, College of Arts and Sciences, joined the faculty of Florida Gulf Coast University in July of 1999. Dr. Ogedegbe received a BA in biology and chemistry from Linfield College, McMinnville, Oregon, an MS in biology from Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, Connecticut and a Ph.D. from The Union Institute and University, Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to joining FGCU, Dr. Ogedegbe was a medical technologist at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Connecticut and an adjunct professor in biology at Tunxis Community College in Farmington Connecticut. He was also an associate in research in experimental immunology and pathology at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut. 

Dr. Ogedegbe has over 34 years experience in the field of clinical laboratory science. He is certified as a chemistry and blood bank technologist and specialist in chemistry by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and as a clinical laboratory scientist by the National Certification Agency. He is certified as an Associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Laboratory Technologists. He is also board certified in clinical chemistry by the National Registry in Clinical Chemistry. He is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Chemists, the American Chemical Society, the American Association of Blood Banks and the Nigerian Association of Clinical Chemist. 

Current research interest and publications include the induction and measurement of antigen specific T cell derived antigen binding molecules and evaluation of diagnostic techniques in clinical immunology, immunohematology and clinical chemistry. He is also currently involved with a study to determine the effects of photodynamic treatment of blood and blood components on contaminating white blood cells.   

Dr. Ogedegbe has published several articles in Laboratory Medicine, Medical Laboratory Observer and other referred journals.
