Participation
in the class by individual reading
and taking
part in case study discussions
is essential
to acheiving the objectives of the
course. It
is intended that each of you will
engage in
critical reading and critical thinking.
Several strategies
will be used to facilitate this
process:
*
Case studies will be provided weekly.
All students are expected to read and actively
participate in the discussion. This activity is part
of the learning process and is important toward
satisfactory completion of the course.
* Students
are encouraged to use
the "real-time" instructor's corner to ask questions
and/or clarify your thoughts. This will be available
for one hour each week at varying times - to allow
for different schedules. Click the Webbroad icon for
directions to access the Webboard.
* You are encouraged to
use a notebook
to write out answers to weekly objectives,
to complete learning activities, and for
other notes (www, slides, textbook, etc.),
which you may take during the course.
* Practice exam
questions
will be posted one week before the unit
exams in the CyberExam. They will include
the material you are covering the syllabus
and in your readings.
The practice exams will be similar to the
questions covered on the unit examinations.
They assist you in developing your
test-taking skills and allow you to review
your mastery of the required knowledge.
The practice questions are in a multiple
choice format. Please note: This site is
not available at this time. I will let you
when it is available. When the site is
available, please familiarize yourselves with
the Cyberexam - as gaining knowledge of testing
skills and testing your patho knowledge is
important in preparing for the unit exams.
Attendance at examinations
are required. If you are
unable, because
of an emergency, to attend an
examination, the
Course Leader must be notified
prior to
the administration of the examination.
A student's failure
to notify the Course Leader prior
to the examination
will result in the final grade or the
make-up examination
being reduced by 10 points.
Examples of emergencies
include: death in the
immediate family,
accident in route to the examination,
or hospitalization.
If you are absence due to illness, you
will need a health
care provider's release form.
