How Do I Change My Name?
  1. In order to permanently change your name, you will need to obtain a new email address from Computing Services (239) 590-1188. This should be done between semesters, as changing your name mid-semester may cause problems with how you are enrolled in or assigned to your ANGEL courses.
  2. Once you have obtained a new email address, you will also need to be sure that this new email address is the one you use in Gulfline. Enrollment in or assignment to ANGEL courses is dependent on the email address of record listed for you in Gulfline. If your new email address is not listed, you will be enrolled in, or assigned to, your courses using your old name.

I am receiving a "Security Warning" in Internet Explorer 8, what should I do?

Recent security updates installed for ANGEL may prompt you for permission to view certain course content. If this happens in your ANGEL course, your options are:

  1. Click the "No" button if you see the "Security Warning" pop-up to see both secure (ANGEL servers) and non-secure content (non ANGEL servers). If you click yes, only the content from the secure ANGEL servers will be displayed.
  2. Use the FireFox browser. Firefox is free to download and is available at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/.

How do I play Windows Media files on a Mac?

Flip4Mac is a Quicktime plug-in for Macintosh OS X computers that adds Windows Media components to the Quicktime software, allowing users to import, export, and view audio and video Windows Media (.wmv, .wma) files using the Quicktime application and interface.

To use Flip4Mac to access Windows Media files, complete the following instructions. Please note that you will need an administrative account on the Macintosh computer on which you want to install this software.

  1. Download the free Flip4Mac plug-in from Apple to your Downloads folder or Desktop.
  2. Once disk image (.dmg) is downloaded, it should automatically unstuff itself as an .mpkg file and open an installer.
  3. If the installer does not open, double-click on the .mpkg file to run the installer.
  4. Click through the installer screens to complete a standard installation of the software. Enter your administrator password when prompted to do so.
  5. When the installation is complete, close and relaunch your internet browser.
  6. Your Windows Media content should now be available through Quicktime.
