Course Policies

Class attendance is mandatory. You are allowed two absences without impacting your grade. For every each absence greater than two your course grade will be lowered a full letter grade.

Exams will be in class written exams.  Unexcused absence from a written exam may not be made up.  Excused absence includes prior notice to the instructor, or a written excuse from a physician after the fact.

Electronic participation assignments will be submitted to the WebBoards located at the class web site. These assignments consist of course feedback and dialogue on health issues.  For each course feedback posting, you can earn at least 3 points if completed on time.  If the posting is above expectations you will earn 4 points.

All on-line assignments are due on Wednesday of the following week at midnight.

In-class assignments are completed and graded based on a team effort.  All members of the team will receive the same grade.  If a member of a team is absent for a class assignment, a grade of zero will be assigned to that team member (this will not reflect on the team grade).

The final exam will include both an in-class and an out-of-class component.  The exam contains an independent and a team section.  The grade will be calculated based both on the individual and team effort.

Concept map(s) are due at the beginning of each class session.

No late work will be accepted.
