Philosophy of Teaching and Learning
A teacher’s primary role is to prepare children to become active, responsible citizens in tomorrow’s world.  In the process, each child’s self esteem should be enhanced and enthusiasm for learning should be encouraged.  Each child, regardless of race, sex, or socioeconomic level, has the right to an excellent education.  It is the teacher’s responsibility to be a positive role model, to require honesty, promote integrity, and strive for the best.  Hands-on learning which includes cooperative activities, alternate ways of assessment, and critical and creative thinking skills is the rule rather than the exception.  Working with the family and community, the teacher strives to encourage active involvement in the education process.
