Coursework & Grading

50% of Grade--Portfolio.  Students are to organize the work from this class to present it in a user-friendly way.  This mean selecting what best demonstrates the student's completion of assignments and excellence.  The Portfolio may include: 
 

1. A written self-assessment (revisit your Accomplished Practices surveys)                       . 
2. Documentation and written artifacts of school visits or interviews
3. Written work from weekly lessons linked to Week-by-Week
4. Video and Audio reactions posted on the WebBoard
5. Research paper for graduate students or Practicum for undergraduate students.
Graduate students must negotiate concerning the research paper topic with Dr. Honeychurch.

                  
 

40% of Grade--Weekly Assignments (See Week-by-Week linked lessons)
 

10% of Grade--Electronic Portfolio is required as your selection of the very best work you have generated during this class.
  NOTE: The portfolio should be turned in via e-mail

 

Assignments

Weekly Assignments: Go to Week-by-Week, on the contents bar above, for weekly assignments. Follow the directions and e-mail your work. 



Weekly Media Reaction Writing
:  Post your reactions to the Sunday videos or the audio tape assignments. Your reactions should be posted weekly on the WebBoard. 


Pre Service Teachers Practicum
:  Preservice teacher trainees are to complete 20 hours of classroom observations following the protocols. You are required to keep a log and reflections in a journal which is to be submitted to Dr. Honeychurch by e-mail periodically. Evidence of 20 hours must be completed by July 16th.


In Service Teachers' School Interviews
:  Working teachers already in classrooms, will not do the Practicum.
