Enterobius vermicularis

Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) eggs, cellulose tape preparation. The diagnostic test of choice is the scotch tape preparation, since the eggs are commonly found on the perianal area rather than in the stool. The eggs are described as being ‘football’ shaped with one flattened side.
