Babesia sp.

Babesia equi. Human thin blood film (Giemsa's stain, oil immersion). Two infected, normal-sized red blood cells are seen. One contains a small ring form; the other demonstrates the tetrad form so characteristic of B. equi infections and, less frequently, B. microti infections.
