Babesia microti. Human thin blood film (Giemsa's stain, oil immersion). Four infected, normal-sized red blood cells are present. In B. microti infections, infected cells may contain tiny ringlike forms, poorly defined rings, or only chromatin dots; three tiny rings and a chromatin dot are evident in this field.
