: : : I believe that anyone who has a set of skills and strive to improve upon those skills are in many ways a professional. I know that there is controversy to call a Patient Care Technician a professional, but I feel that they have a set of skills that sets them apart from other people. In my mind, this makes them a professional.

: : I like that Jonathan, hadn't thought of an aide or care technician either as or as not a professional. They have to work hard to keep their good skills up.

: It is difficult to separate people in the Health Care Field. In many ways, we have a lot of communality and still are separated. I think it is dangerous grounds to look down on others just because we think they may not be "a professional".

According to many of my other classes, techs aree not considered professionals. As far as I have seen, they hve only on the job training. Aides at least have a little educational background although they are not considered professionals by many.
