: : : Should the cost for mandated continuing education be who's responsibility the employer or the health care professional?

: : Mandated CEU's if required for a particular job should be paid be the employer ie ACLS

: I disagree Peggy. It's a requirement to maintain my job. I seem to be outnumber and I understand the rational, but what is being said that if the employer doesn't come through then it is the fault of the employer that I didn't maintain my license and my job and that is incorrect. It is my responsibility. Now, I wouldn't turn down help from the employer, but again that isn't their responsibility.

Jonathan - I see your point but I also see what Peggy is trying to say. You pay for your own CEU's and you get to choose which classes you want to take. If an employer wants you to take a specific class, he should pay for it. You can take any number of classes if your only goal is to maintain your license.
