LD LINKS Federal Resource Center-This site contains IDEA 97 in complete form. Also, it contains the Prez’s response to the passing of the law. You can find various other legal reports and laws that are in the works. Florida Department of Education – The official site of the State of Florida. There is a whole section for parents of exceptional students. You will need Adobe Acrobat reader to access the information booklet. Family Village- Talk about finding everything under one roof! You can go to the library, visit a coffee shop to chat with other people with disabilities, go shopping to see what adaptive stuff is out there and this is with a click of the mouse. Go explore-and have fun too! Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD)- Confused by all of the opinions out there? Try CHADD! He’ll clear things up in no time. This organization was founded in 1987 by parents who have children with AD/HD. Get educated, learn to advocate and get supported by this group! LD Online-Parents this should be your first stop for information. This site has everything from research updates, and ask an expert, to kidzone and a shopping center all under one roof! Learn the alphabet soup of learning disabilities and find out if any events/conferences are headed your way. If that’s not enough, you can get on-line support through a bulletin Board and LD chat. ERIC Clearinghouse on Disabilities and Gifted Education-If it’s more information you crave search the ERIC databases, get answers to FAQ’s, and get to know the long arm of the law. |
