Financial Assistance
All scholarships and financial assistance are available to every student as long as they meet the criteria for each scholarship or financial assistance program. Talk to your counselor for information on financial aid.
The following is a list of some scholarships available to students with disabilities in the state of Florida:
Johnson Scholarship - State University System - up to $3,500 for an academic year - applications available in February - contact the coordinator of Programs and Services for Students with Disabilities or the Financial Aid Office at the college or university.
Iacona Memorial Scholarship - Florida Atlantic University - contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at (561)367-2737.
Gore Family Memorial Foundation Scholarship - Broward County - contact the above foundation at 230 Southwest First Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Fl. 33301.
Rita O'Connell Scholarship - University of Florida - award two $1,000 scholarships annually to female students with physical disabilities - based on academic performance and involvement in university activities - applications accepted January to March - call (352)392-1261.
Callahan Memorial Trust Scholarship - University of Florida - award two $500 scholarships to currently registered students with disabilities - register with the Student Financial Affairs Department at (352)392-1275.
Ryan Disabled Student Scholarship - University of North Florida - contact the program director for the Disabled Services Program of the university at (904)620-2769.
