Entamoeba polecki

Entamoeba polecki. Trophozoite in fecal smear (trichrome stain, oil immersion). This rounded trophozoite has coarsely vacuolated cytoplasm and a typical Entamoeba nucleus. The karyosome is compact and centrally located, and the fine peripheral chromatin is evenly distributed on the nuclear membrane. Such trophozoites could be mistakenly identified as E. histolytica unless numerous organisms are examined.
