Coccidians

Cyclospora cayetanensis. Oocyst in wet mount preparation (unstained, high power) from cultured fecal material. It takes approximately 1 week or longer for the oocysts of this species to undergo sporulation in the external environment. This infective oocyst contains two sporocysts, each of which contains two sporozoites. Sporulated oocysts of this species would not be found in examinations of fresh feces.
