Welcome!  This assignment is intended to ensure that off-campus students have the technology skills for a web-based course.

If you need to take a workshop to learn Microsoft Word, Power Point, Netscape Navigator, WebBoard, and the FGCU Student E-Mail System, check out the workshop schedule. You may also register for a workshop by phoning 590-7100 or stopping in the Griffin Hall Computer Lab (Room 208) M-F between 8:30-4:30. Be sure to show up five minutes before the class is scheduled to be held. Times and rooms are subject to change.

 
By the end of this week, students will be able to

  3. Send an email with/without an attachment to the instructor
  4. Post a message to the class distribution list
  5. Reply to the message from the instructor
  6. Finish Tech. Skills online survey
  7. Send a paragraph stating the reasons for taking this course to the instructor from the class Web site
  8. Post a message on the bulletin board
  9. Reply to a posting on the bulletin board
  10. Use a chat room
  11. Use on-line library catalogue and search other on-line databases for publications
  12. Retrieve electronic class reserves
  13. Based on the online skill self-assessment result, make a learning plan if necessary
