  2. Now, finish reading the paper. Were your expectations for the topic, purpose and audience fulfilled? If not, what do you now thing the topic, purpose and audience are?
  3. What do you think the main idea or thesis of the paper is?
  4. What evidence is used to develop or support the thesis? Is the evidence appropriate? Is there sufficient evidence? If not, what sort of evidence should the writer consider?
  5. Does the author take into account different points of view about the thesis of the paper and consider counterarguments?
  6. Are there any counterarguments the author does not consider but should?
  7. Summarize the paper, devoting one sentence to each topic addressed.
  8. Provide editorial comments and questions, requests for clarification on the copy you edit. Provide CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM that you think will assist the author in improving their final paper.
