 Course Overview

This in an introduction to the fundamentals of computers in education, information processing, and computer applications with curriculum integration. Through lectures and hands-on lab experience the student will become acquainted with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphic applications, file management, electronic mail, and communications. No previous knowledge or experience is required.

Course Objectives are based on the ISTE NETS for Teachers (NETS•T), which focus on preservice teacher education, define the fundamental concepts, knowledge, skills, and attitudes for applying technology in educational settings.

Extra Credit – any student who solves a technical problem arising from any assignment may be awarded up to 3 final percentage points for presenting to the class the problem, the solution and the process of arriving at the solution. Meet with instructor for planning and details.

I reserve the right to give up to 5 unplanned quizzes for up to 20 points each, during the semester.
