Weekly Assignments -

Watch spelling and grammar!

Over the years, the teaching profession has come under attack. Some say that teachers are not professional or qualified enough. As educators, we know this is not true.

Who are the parents of your students? Some have acquired advanced degrees and lead professional lives. Your written communication with them must be professional in tone and quality. Do not assume an overly informal tone when speaking to or writing to parents.

In support of this, the professional presentation of your communication with me will count. Spell check, grammar check and proof read everything before submitting it to me. Beginning on the 4th week of class, I will not read any assignment with more errors than pages. This includes journal entries.

Assignments will be graded as follows: To receive full credit, hand the assignment in on the due date, follow instructions, and be creative. See notice above.

Assignments must be your own work and something you might be able to modify and reuse in your professional life. Each assignment will be a file that you create using the functions learned by completing the Lab/Projects from your text.

Journal Entries

To receive full credit, send the journal entry by email on the due date, follow instructions, and be creative

Journal entries of at least one paragraph describing your development through the course. Comments regarding application of computer concepts and topics discussed during lecture that you find application for in other courses you are taking. What have you learned in EME 2040? How does it apply or transfer to other areas? What is missing?

Compose your journal in a Word file. Make sure you date your entries. Save your Word file and add to it each week. Copy the appropriate paragraph into the body of an email message to send to me on the due date. See notice above.
