Student Attendance
Students are required to attend school regularly.
Students are expected to be on time each school day. A note or phone call
from parent/ guardian is a request that a students absence or tardiness be
excused.
Family or personal illness or emergency constitutes an
excused absence. All missed work, from an excused and non excused absence,
must be made up within a given amount of time, as requested by the
teacher.
All unexcused absences and unexcused tardiness will be
considered when grading processes are done.
If an elementary school student accrues 19 or more absences,
unexcused or excused, where the student is at-risk academically within a school
year, the student shall be referred to the Child Study Team at the school to
determine whether the student shall be promoted.
Excessive tardiness or early releases from school (six or
more per quarter) may be referred to the Child Study Team to be considered for
possible retention from school.
