Dress Code

    At Sawgrass Elementary School, our feeling is that, the school is a place of business and apparel worn by the students should accommodate this philosophy.  Personal appearance shall not distract from the educational process.
    Student Dress Code Responsibilities
    A.  Closed toed shoes will be worn at all times.
    B.  Clothing will be appropriate for the school in both length and coverage.
    C.  Pants and skirts shall be fastened at the waist.
    D.  Shirts or blouses will be fastened in accord with the design of that shirt or blouse.  The length shall extend beyond the waist level.
    E.  Transparent, see-through, bare-midriffs, strapless, low-cut clothing, tops, or outfits are prohibited.  This includes halters, backless dresses or tops, tube tops, tank tops, muscle shirts, or any clothing which may be distractive.
    F.  Any article of clothing or jewelry that can be injuring such as: belts, chains, bracelets, rings, chokers with or without spikes or studs, are prohibited.  Wallet chains of any length are prohibited.
    G.  Apparel emblems, insignias, badges, or symbols that promote the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any other illegal activity are prohibited.
    H.  Piercing of body parts other than ears may not be exposed.  
    I.  Hats, caps, headgear, or sunglasses with the exception of school approved uniforms or authorized athletic practices on campus are prohibited.
    J.  Clothing with slogans or advertisements that are obscene, controversial or disrupts educational setting is prohibited.
