Family Involvement
Family involvement is highly encouraged at Sawgrass
Elementary.
Parents may come into the principal's office at any time
during the school year to discuss their student's progress, as we highly encourage
an open-door policy.
Volunteerism is very much appreciated at our school.
Parents, siblings and community members are encouraged to participate in the
volunteer programs. Programs for volunteers include: Career Day; classroom
helpers; field-trip helpers; mentoring program; Parent Teacher Organization;
Partners in Education; Technology Media helpers; School Advisory Councils;
Reading Partners; and physicians in our school.
School newsletters are distributed weekly to inform parents,
guardians, and communities of school events, cafeteria menus, and special dates.
Individual classroom newsletters are also distributed weekly
and involve in-depth information from individual classrooms.
