On this page is a list of links to various education resources.  Included are links to sites with teacher resources, help with lesson planning, teacher methods, curriculum enhancement, and school improvement or staff development.  There are many useful sites here.  Take a moment to look around.  You will also find listings for the Sunshine State Standards, the Florida and U.S. Dept. of Education, and GOALS 2000.

Lesson Plan Design:  Knowledge of Teaching Methods   

Lesson Planning--This site gives a good description of the parts of a lesson, as well as how to plan a lesson or unit.   

This site of the Asia Pacific Education Office is titled--"Teaching Methods, Part 1," and that is exactly what you'll find there--Descriptions, Purposes, and Examples of Teaching Methods.

Teacher's Edition Online--Tools for Teachers.  This site even includes interview and portfolio tips.   

Connections+ consists of Internet resources--lesson plans, activities, curriculum resources--linked with corresponding subject-area content standards (from Content Knowledge: A Compendium of Standards and Benchmarks for K-12 Education).  Also included in these resource packages are other links to assist teachers.   

The Teacher's Lounge---"Welcome to the Teacher's Lounge!  This homepage was created to recognize those teachers who contribute to the Internet community.  It is also to provide links to teachers or future teachers who have done or plan to develop engaged school projects.  This page is accompanied by the music from Mission Impossible—get it?   

Welcome to TeacherLINK, the online teacher resource center provided as a service to public education. Here you'll find links to wonderful educational resources, lesson plans and classroom activities, NASA educational materials, and much more.      

Scholastic.Com—There is a links to Classroom Magazines.  When you go there, you find info on the Scholastic magazines that are available for use in the classroom.  There are two for secondary social studies.   

Lesson Plans and Resources for Social Studies Teachers.  Lesson Plans, teaching strategies, resources, online activities, etc.   

ED-scape Teacher—Instructional Resources and Lesson Plans, Basics for Teachers, Teaching with the Web, etc.   

This site is a must for current events.  “Welcome to the Newsweek Education Program Web Site! A site designed to help teachers build bridges to real-world issues.”  There are lessons to use with actual articles from Newsweek magazine.  Just click on a magazine date, and PRESTO!! Great Lesson ideas!    

Prentice-Hall, the Publisher.  This is their site for social studies.  There are links to other sites as well as information about some of their publications and some sample activities.    

Marc’s Word Search Page.  Make your own word searches.  This page is set up to take up to 20 of your words and create a word search.   

The Early American History Crossword Puzzle--This puzzle is updated and past editions can be accessed.

CyberGuides:  Teacher Guides and Student Activities. CyberGuides are supplementary, web-based units of instruction centered on core works of literature. They are designed for the classroom with one online computer. Each CyberGuide contains a student and teacher edition, objectives,a task and a process by which it may be completed, teach-selected web sites and a rubric.

Resources related to Academic concerns of students.  This is a great site with lots of links.  There are links to a lot of social studies resources like news sources and historical documents or the U.S. House of Representatives.

Study Web—Focusing the Web for Education.  This is a searchable site with links to many subject areas.   

HomeworkNOW™ is the only on-line service that keeps teachers, students, and parents connected! HomeworkNOW™ allows teachers to post their classroom assignments daily/weekly on the Internet and gives students and parents easy 24 hour access to those assignments through a Web browser.
