1. Referring to the Grammar Translation Method, Richard and Rodgers (1986:5), said "It is a method for which there is no theory." Why did they make that statement? Do you agree with them? Validate your ideas with references.

 

2. Reflect on the significance of linguistics for language teaching. Refer to Figure 2 of Bratt Paulston's chapter (p.81). Think about the ways you approach language teaching in your classroom. How similar or different it is from the proposed model. In doing so you may come up with your own flow chart or diagram.
