      What is discourse? How is language used between students and teachers? List some scaffolding techniques

      for facilitating discourse. Analyze language samples for scaffolding techniques and for communication

    3. Morphology
      define morphology and how is the acquisition of the inflectional system

      types of morphemes and the concept of creating new words

      study and analyze word order in other languages

      potential influence of differences between the first and the target language

      sentence transformation and the first language effects
       
       

    4. Semantics
      what does a word mean?

      form versus meaning

      what does meaning mean?

      meaning and the mind

      metaphor

      pragmatics and sociolinguistics

      how do children acquire language?

      can adults facilitate children's language acquisition?

      second Language acquisition review: bridging, chunking, and creating
