have just graduated from college and have been hired as an environmental
reporter by a children's news magazine. Your editor-in-chief has given you your
first assignment as a news reporter. You are to write a feature article to
teach your young readers about endangered species and encourage them to become
active in protecting the environment. There are two important questions to be
considered as you complete this assignment.
1. How
do changes in an ecosystem alter the population of an organism?
2. How
do humans contribute to changes in ecosystems that result in endangered
species?
A good article will include:
1. A
general answer to these two questions.
2. A list of animals in the United States
that are endangered as a result of these conditions.
3. In-depth
coverage of one species and include information about why they it is
endangered.
4. A
chart or graph to illustrate the changes in the animal’s population.
5. A
photograph of the animal.
