PROCESS
A good article will provide readers with
accurate information and persuade them to take action in protecting the
environment. As you prepare to write this important article, you must remember
the importance of your research skills, organizational skills, and your writing
skills.
To begin your task:
1. Research
an Endangered Species from the United States of America and create a list to be
included in the article.
2. Locate
information about how animals become endangered.
3. Select
a species which you would like to research for your in-depth report.
4. Organize
your research findings to develop a plan for writing.
5. Create
a chart or graph depicting population changes from the data you have located
about your selected species.
6. Write
a draft of your article.
7. Have
another reporter read your article and offer suggestions.
8. Carefully
edit your article. It is also wise to have someone else read and edit your
article.
9. Prepare
a final draft using a word processor.
10. Position
the photograph of your selected animal and the chart or graph within the
article.
11. Submit
your article for review by your editor. (See the EVALUATION section to see how
your editor will review the quality of your work.)
