Wuchereria bancrofti

Wuchereria bancrofti and Brugia malayi. Microfilariae in blood smear (Giemsa's stain, oil immersion). Microfilariae of W. bancrofti and B. malayi in the same microscopic field demonstrate the staining characteristics that help differentiate the two species, ie, the pink-staining sheath on the microfilariae of B. malayi.
