Hookworm

Hookworm egg, iodine wet preparation. The eggs of Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale are indistinguishable. Both have a thin shell, with the characteristic space between the egg shell and developing embryo. Note that both ends of the egg are symmetrical, and broadly rounded.
