Plasmodium malariae

Plasmodium malariae. Thin blood film (Giemsa's stain, oil immersion). Ring forms of this species have a single large chromatin dot and a more prominent circle of cytoplasm. The infected red blood cells are not enlarged, and stippling is rarely seen.
