Fasciola hepatica

Fasciola hepatica. Egg in feces (unstained, high power). The eggs of this liver fluke are large, broadly ellipsoidal, unembryonated, and operculate. They measure 130 to 150 µm by 63 to 90 µm when passed in the feces. It should be noted that the operculum is small and indistinct. A thickened or roughened abopercular end is a characteristic feature of this species.
