Upper Left Starting Point
Provide an obvious starting point in the screen's upper-left corner.
In Western cultures people read from right to left and from top to bottom, so, when assuming a Western audience, it is best to design the user interface with this information in mind. Usability testing has shown that the visual targets are located much more quickly if placed in the upper left quadrant of a screen versus the bottom right quadrant.
