The letters are confusing because
while they form groups, the groups are not
similar in their presentation. Instead, there is
some attempt to make sense of all the capitals or
all the lower cases.
Recall the example from the
book. Distance and other cues being equal, we
tend to group similar objects so in the example
to the right, there is a tendency to see columns,
not rows.
