The student can play
quarterback on a school football team
- Designed to represent motor skills, this
particular example clearly shows the varying role of
essential prerequisite information. Football fans
will recognize the enormous variety of tasks that a
quarterback must engage in. The motor skills of
handling the football are only a small portion of the
many different elements that are involved. Clearly,
the knowledgeable coach must attend to all of these
facets of the game, not only the physical skills.
