: : : : : What is your definition of the good samaritan law?
: : : : Rendering emergency services in good faith to help an individual. These services must be something you have knowledge on and not performed just to practice or to see if you can do it.
: : : I forgot to add, if the services you render cause injury, this law protects you from being sued for the injury you inflict.
: : Marilyn, have you ever stopped at an accident and helped? Did you think about what might happen?
: No, I've never been through the experience, but I at social events I sometimes think about what if someone needed the Heimlich or CPR. pretty scary thought, at work we respond automatically.
It is scary. The worst part is not having the equipment and should you let someone die or perform mouth to mouth breathing and compressions until EMS gets there. I've had to make that call. I choose to perfrom CPR and mouth to mouth
I didi however assess the patient for risks before I started. He was an elderly man
