Trypanosoma cruzi. Amastigotes in cardiac muscle (hematoxylin and eosin stain, oil immersion). The morphologic feature of amastigotes are clearly seen here. The spherical nucleus and the bar-shaped kinetoplast clearly differentiate T. cruzi from other protozoan or fungal parasites.
