Metagonimus yokogawai. Adult worm
(carmine stain, scanning power). A minute fluke of the human small intestine,
it usually measures 1to 2 mm in length. The most prominent feature of this fluke
is the deflection of the ventral sucker to the right of the midline where it
is closely associated. with the opening of the genital pore. The testes are
large, diagonal to each other, and stain bright red in this preparation; the
smaller ovary is anterior to them. The uterus is filled with brown-staining
eggs.
