Entamoeba coli
Epithelial cells in fecal smear (trichrome
stain, oil immersion). The slender, elongated cell is not likely to be confused
with a parasite. However, the other cell may pose a problem. Although it might
be mistaken for Entamoeba coli, the size, appearance, and distribution
of the peripheral chromatin indicates that this object is not a protozoan.
