Chilomastix mesnili

Chilomastix mesnili. Cyst in fecal smear (iron hematoxylin stain, oil immersion). This cyst has a typical lemon shape and the nipplelike prominence at one end. The fibrils lying along the cytostome give the overall appearance of an "open safety pin."
