Acanthamoeba spp.

Acanthamoeba species. Two cysts in wet mount preparation from agar culture (unstained, oil immersion). The typical cyst wall is composed of two distinct layers—a wrinkled exocyst and an inner, polyhedral or stellate endocyst. The nucleus is more prominent in one of the cysts.
