Two Factor Theories

• Owens indicates that the Two-Factor Theories have been abandoned. These theories, however, have an important history that can offer some potential benefit to our understanding of leadership.

• The two factors are:

  • Task-orientation or initiating structure
  • Relationship-orientation or consideration
