1. Use APA format for proper citation of any sources. 2. An abstract is a concise and accurate synopsis of an article. Remember that an abstract is non-evaluative, written in the active tense, and does not include one’s personal comments. 3. Information that is one’s personal interpretation of the article is not included in an abstract. 4. Abstract sentences are specific in nature with the first sentence giving information regarding the nature of the article. 5. Sentences are never copied verbatim. This is considered plagiarism and is not acceptable. The abstract should be no more than 1 - 2 paragraphs in length. The key here is for the abstract to be concise yet have enough information for the reader to decide whether he/she wants to view the article in its entirety.
PART II Applicability of the article In this assignment, you are also required to apply or relate the article to health care systems or practice in some way. Remember that this is an additional component of the assignment and is not part of the abstract itself. 6. The following paragraphs involve your interpretation of the applicability of the article to health care systems in general or, more specifically, to your role as a health care provider. Think about your current or future health professional role. Please limit the abstract and your thoughts regarding the article’s applicability to one typed page.
