Group Assignment Process

One of the major assignments for this course is a group research proposal. Your task is to choose a topic area (actually three areas with your first, second, and third choices identified) that you are interested in pursuing in the course through the rest of the semester.  Such topics might include but are limited to:  breast cancer, cardiac disease (will have to be narrowed down), gerontology, sports medicine, pediatrics, etc.  This list is not all-inclusive.

Once you have selected your topic areas, notify me through e-mail and I will assign everyone to a group on a first-come, first-served basis.  For example, the first 5-6 people who are interested in cardiac rehabilitation who notify me will constitute the group.  If there are enough students interested in the same topic area to form two groups of 5-6 each, that would be possible also.

Once you are assigned to a group, your assignments will begin.  You will remain with this research proposal group throughout the semester.  First, choose three topic areas of interest.  Then, e-mail me your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of topic area by Friday, May 19th at noon.  I will then assign everyone to groups and will notify you all on Monday, May 22.  I reserve the right to assign a student to any group to balance the groups or for any other reason deemed necessary by me. You will learn about the research process regardless of what group you become a member of. Good luck!
