  1. What is the total cost of ownership (TCO) for the following devices? (20 points)

a)            Analog camera model “myAncientPictureTaker”: Purchase price $200, battery $10 (each lasts for 25 films), film $5 (capacity 20 pictures; the price includes developing, but not prints), prints $0.10 each

b)            Digital camera “DigiPix”: Purchase price $ 500 incl. rechargeable battery, prints $0.20 each.

Assumption: The camera will be used for a 2 year period (2 x 50 weeks) and its solely purpose will be to take 20 pictures each Monday. The company needs exactly one print per picture taken.

Each shot can and will be used (no savings due to the digital camera’s capability to erase unwanted shots). There is no battery or film included in the purchase price of the analog camera. Do not consider interest on payments.
