The first rule is planning - focus on Content and Purpose. Create your outline, then you presentation.

With PowerPoint you can create presentations that are interactive, by linking slides rather than displaying every slide sequentially. You can also link to Web Pages from within your presentations. Here is a sample of a Power Point presentation I created for a class.

Homework - The Goal of this assignment is to learn how you can use the Internet to explore an educational topic and to familiarize yourself with Learning Objects.

Beginning this week our focus will shift from using the technology for productivity toward, using the technology as an enhancement to your teaching. Incorporating technology into the curriculum.

This week, use an Internet Search engine like Yahoo or Google to find pages that will explain and give example of Learning Objects. Hint- you may get better results by using the Advanced link of the search engine you choose.

After reading several pages you should know:

• What a Learning Object is.
• How to find a Learning Object.
• Where you can find Learning Objects that use MSWord, and MSExcel.
• You should have a few new ideas about how you could create a Learning Object.

Come to class prepared to discuss Learning Objects. Incorporate significant information you found into your journal entry this week.
