The ratio of physicians to population continues to increase beyond estimated needs. An oversupply of physicians in many urban regions contrasts with continuing problems of access in rural and inner city areas. Why does the maldistribution of physicians persist in spite of the number of physicians graduated? What is the current number of physicians per civilian in the United States? Do you feel this is appropriate?
Once you have gathered your thoughts, please post your response on the bulletin board prior to 5pm on Friday, June 9th. Also, you are responsible for responding to the postings of other students. All students must participate in the student webboard discussion for the week before the deadline to receive credit for participation. This will make it necessary for you to visit the bulletin board several times during the course of the week. Your participation grade will depend on the quality of your initial responses as well as your interaction and responses to the postings made by other students. Remember there is opportunity for extra credit points, but you must not only answer the topic questions, but provide added insight based on additional review of topic.
