Patricia Chaney Knowls

 

    Patricia Chaney Knowls is the great granddaughter of Ellen Summerall Tillis and the Grand-daughter of Daisy Chaney.   Laverne Bander is her cousin and John and James are her brothers.  Patricia Chaney Knowls is a retired teacher.  She taught in the Lee County School system for five years.  In 1965 Mrs. Knowls was the first black teacher to teach at Michigan Elementary.  She later moved to Washington D.C. and taught school there for twenty years.
