Focus Paper |
Guidelines The Focus Paper is intended to focus on a specific problem area and present an innovative design solution. The guidelines for this project are very specific. The Focus Paper will have three (3) sections. Each section is limited to maximum of three pages each. Each section should be clearly identified. Section One: Choose a very specific, focused topic related to health and aging, and explore the topic's importance for discussion today. Section Two: Discuss an area of controversy within this focused topic, eliciting the problem that caused the controversy, and base your discussion on at least five references citing pro's and con's. Provide complete citation for sources. Section Three: Develop and describe an innovative solution to the problem. Discuss your ideas, reasons, and method for instituting this project as a change agent. Describe how, where, and why you would implement this change. Be creative and have fun! You may use a creative solution to the problem that someone else has proposed and/or implemented (i.e.. you don't always have to reinvent the wheel, you can replace the stone with rubber...). Remember to submit citations for references. Format The body of the paper shall be a maximum of 10 pages in length, doubles-spaced, typed, and referenced. The formatting style as outlined in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) is the preferred formatting style. Submission of Paper Draft of Focus Paper is to be submitted to instructor for approval, attached to email, by February 23, 2000. Deadline for final version of Focus Paper is April 19. Grading Criteria Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style will be counted as10% of the Focus Paper grade. Assignments received after the deadline will have 5% of the point total deducted for each day they are late. The grading of the paper will be distributed as follows: Section
